I’m linking up again with the wonderful Mrs Miracle for her “worked for me Wednesday”.
I get very little money for my classroom. I get a tiny bit of money from the state that each teacher gets and a tiny bit every year from a fun run the school does. I don’t get the class donations that other teachers get, so I am always trying to think of ways I can get items for my classroom without spending money my own money.
I always thought these were only for other teachers and finally realized I can collect them too. I started by putting out a note to my friends and neighbors that I am collecting them. There are a number of people who don’t have anyone to give them to, so they don’t collect them or they collect them just because they have always collected them.
In my first year of collecting last year I got over $100 worth. You get just a small amount for every one you collect but it adds up. I put out a note in my classroom, but I really only get a few. Most of them go to their classroom teachers. I plan to give a note to my choir parents this year and ask the to spare a few for me.
In my school, each teacher collects boxtops and turns them in to the PTA. The PTA counts them and turns them in and then puts the money into each of our accounts. Talk to your school to find out how it works at the school.
I also discovered that there are tons of products that have boxtops on them. Check it out the products that have boxtops on them here.
It worked for me!!

Christy Gibson
so if my school collects them, you're saying I can have my own separate account and send them in under my name even if they notice I'm a teacher at a school that already has an account?
Linda
Christy, in my school, the PTA sends each teacher's boxtops in and puts them into each teachers' account. I would find out how your school's Box tops work.
